Soren T Lyngso UMS 213 Overhaul - RoPax Ferry
Project Details
When P&O European Ferries (Irish Sea) Ltd took re-delivery of their RoPax vessel 'Bison' after long term charter to another operator, a major equipment refurbishment programme was required.
There had been extensive failure of the Soren T Lyngso UMS213 Machinery Monitoring & Alarm System, necessitating component level electronic repairs to many of the alarm cards and complete re-calibration and re-commissioning of the system.
The Exhaust Gas Temperature Monitoring System for the main engines was also replaced with an Autronica KM2 system.
Services provided by MJR included:
- Faultfinding and electronic repairs to approximately 40% of the system alarm cards.
- Re-calibration of analogue measurement channels.
- Repairs and re-calibration of defective pressure transmitters.
- Supply and replacement of temperature sensors and transmitters.
- Installation of replacement Main Engine Exhaust Gas Temperature Monitoring System.
